Learn the craft

A complete experience, from wax modeling to bronze pouring.

Each participant leaves with their own bronze sculpture, about 1 kg, made with their own hands using the lost-wax technique.

Led by Firmin Sanou himself, the workshops are designed to transmit the essence of the craft: patience, precision, the relationship with fire.

Format 1

Intensive workshop

4 sessions of 2 hours + a half-day for dewaxing and pouring.

Ideal to discover the entire process over a short period.

Format 2

Weekly workshop

2 to 3 hours per week + 5 hours for the final pouring.

Format spread over several weeks to deepen the craft.

The process

Six steps of matter

You will go through each phase that gives birth to a bronze sculpture.

  1. Modelage de la cireShaping the work in beeswax, with its details and volumes.
  2. Clay mold makingThree successive layers that hug the wax with precision.
  3. Progressive dryingSeveral days in the open air to solidify the mold.
  4. DewaxingThe wax is heated and flows out of the mold, freeing space for the metal.
  5. Bronze castingFusion at 1800°, pour at 800° into the incandescent mold.
  6. FinitionsSanding, chiseling and patina application to reveal the work.
